Homo Habilis
In 1964 an anthropologist named Louis Leakey annouced that they found remains of the oldest hominidfrom the genus Home (or man in latin). Louis believed that the stone tools, that he and his team found, means that the hominids have been inteligent, tool making humans.Louis found his first stone tool at Olduvai Gorge, then he and his wife found a skull, louis' son then found fragments of a skull not far from the first skull. Thus, after find so many bones and tools Louis finally said everything belonged to the human genus the homo habilis. The homo Habilis live from about 1.9 to 1.5 million years ago. The Habilis have teeth similar to the australopithecus, a bigger brain, slightly more apelike arms than the Aust., and they are about 5 tall and 100 pounds, females are some what smaller. The habilis were smart, they made stone tools which is called the Oldwan industry. " These creatures lived in Africa about 1.5 million years ago. Homo habilis probably lived alongside Australopithecus." (kidspast.com)
